Huangjiabu Town was entitled “Home of Fire-fighting Equipment in China” by Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China in Year 2002.

The fire-fighting equipment industry, one of the 4 major characteristic industries that are highly supported by Yuyao Municipal People’s Government, is a key project of provincial bulk industry standard in Zhejiang Province and an import and export base of fire-fighting equipment in Ningbo.

Till now, the town boasts over 100 fire-fighting equipment manufacturers, out of whom 10 are manufacturers above designated scale, 5 are manufacturers valued over 100 million RMB. The total output value of the industry in the town reaches 1.2 billion RMB and over 6,000 employees are working for the very industry. The town now boasts 1 Famous Trademark of China, 1 Zhejiang Famous Trademark, 5 Ningbo Well-known Products, 2 Renowned Export Enterprises in Zhejiang, 3 Renowned Export Enterprises in Ningbo, 1 Zhejiang Engineering Center, 3 Ningbo Enterprise Engineering Centers, 5 Yuyao Enterprise Engineering Centers and 4 National High-tech Enterprises.

In 2016, the very industry realized a total sales income of 3.7 billion, contributing taxes for profit up to around 350 million RMB. Over 90% products are sold to Europe and America, accounting for over 70% of the total export volume in China. Major fire-fighting equipment include a variety of fire extinguishers, fire valves, special valves, fire-fighting equipment parts, fire-proofing materials and water systems for fire fighting.
