On May 20th, according to the Municipal Trade Bureau, from January to April,  the volume of our city’s retail sales above norm totaled 46.288 billion yuan, up 12.3% on last year's corresponding period. The volume of the wholesale and retail, catering and accommodation industry above norm grew by 13.7%, 9% and 4.1% respectively over the same period of last year.
　　In April, the major retail trade of the city’s consumer market kept a stable growth, in which the volume of wholesale sales above norm totaled 1.14 billion yuan, up 31.1% on the previous year; the volume of retail sales above norm totaled 9.83 billion yuan, up 10.5%; the volume of catering industry above norm totaled 460 million yuan, up 18.7%.
　　In April, 2014, although there wasn’t an outbreak of the gold jewelry industry as in 2013, the retail industry realized a comprehensive speed-up. In April, the city's auto sales continued to pick up. The retail sales of automobiles grew by 21.2%, up 9.2 percentage points over the same period of 2013; and the retail sales of necessities, house decoration, petroleum and products increased by 8.4%, 28.5% and 15.4% respectively. Influenced by the rising market of the weddings and the public catering industry, in April, the retail sales of the city’s  catering industry above norm grew by 14.3%, up 9.4 percentage points over the same period of 2013.
