Thanks to the efforts to expand emerging markets, the solar battery export of Ningbo rises this year despite the hard situation. According to Ningbo Customs, in the first quarter of 2014, 3,165,000 solar batteries were exported via Ningbo Customs, valuing 1.67 billion US dollars, increased by 53.7% and 13.4% year on year.
Statistics show that the export is mainly to the emerging markets. The export to South Korea reaches 672,000, an increase of 112 times; the export to India reaches 430,000, increased by 58.3%; the export to South Africa reaches 396,000, increased by 114% over the same period in the previous year.
A related person of Ningbo Customs pointed out that despite the increase in export, the price on average drops down by 26.2% and the competition between companies on the price is more severe.
