A sharp increase in traffic in downtown is expected to occur on February 14 when Valentine's Day and Lantern Festival land on the same day, said local traffic authorities. Some areas might see traffic congestions on the day. Local traffic police will be on an orange traffic jam alert on February 14.
　　The traffic jam alert will start at 15:00 on the 14th, covering the area of major roads, bridges, roads near heavy construction sites, and roads near the border of Yinzhou District.Traffic authorities advise the public to use public transport on Friday evening and avoid peak hours and sections. Drivers are suggested taking the less traveled routes including the beltway, the Ring Road, Liyuan Road, Century Avenue, and Renmin Road.
