Yuyao muscovy duck has nearly one hundred year of breeding history. In recent years, after the introduction of high quality duck, the quality of Yuyao muscovy duck has been improved, with better production performance and larger breeding amount. In 2002, the breeding amount of meat duck has reached over 5 million with breeding duck production of over 5 million, among which there are over 3 million young ducks and meat ducks being sold outside the city and the marketing area has expanded to various provinces and cities in the mainland. The 170-190-day-old duck normally start laying eggs, and the 64-week-old could have laid 120 eggs on average while the 83-week-old have laid 202 eggs on average.
