At the end of last month, the project of Sitang Crossing-River Metering Regulating sluice and Qitang Crossing-River Metering Regulating sluice, which locate in Quanyi Village, Xiaocao’e Town, started. For these two Regulating sluices, the design flood standard is one time/20 years, and the check flood standard is one time/50 years, and they will be completed in March next year. This emblematizes that the construction of the diversion work from Cao’e River to Cixi City(Yuyao Section) formally starts.

As we know, the diversion work from Cao’e River is an important action of provincial Party committee and provincial government to coordinate and deploy the water resources in eastern Zhejiang Province, and it is an important component part of the diversion work in eastern Zhejiang Province, which has been labeled as one of “ Five Great Projects of Ten-billion Yuan”. In the construction, the diversion work is principal, and at the same time the work of flood control, draining flooded fields and improving river-net aquatic environment is taken into account. The roughly calculated investment of this project is 0.47 billion Yuan, annual abstraction is 0.31 billion cubic meter, thereinto 0.07 billion cubic meter for Yuyao City, and 0.24 billion cubic meter for Cixi City. The goal of construction period is “Being open to water in 2 years and project completed in 3 years”.

It is reported that the overall length of pilot channel in Yuyao is ３９.７４Km, which passes through the following 5 towns: Huangjiabu, Linshan, Simen, Xiaocao’e and Moushan. It needs to build up 2 regulating sluices and 45 bridges, excavate earth of 3.19 million cubic meter, concrete of 74 thousand cubic meter, stone of 279 thousand cubic meter. The overall expropriated land is 1296 mou, and the torn-down houses are 162, and the torn-down area is 35500 square meters.
