Recently, the 2025 Zhejiang Provincial Folk Art Paper Exchange and Field Research Activity was held in our city. Nearly 50 experts, scholars, cultural officials, and paper authors gathered in Yaocheng to exchange ideas through literature and art, jointly exploring new pathways for the development of folk art. During the event, the award ceremony for the third round of winning papers titled "New Era·New Perspective—Inheritance and Innovation of Zhejiang Folk Art" was also held, with four of our city's works receiving awards.
The participants also visited Hengkantou Village in Liangnong Town and Zhongcun Village in Luting Township for on-site field trips. The beautiful natural scenery, profound historical heritage, and vibrant contemporary atmosphere of Yuyao immersed them in the charm of culture, providing abundant material for theoretical research and artistic creation. The attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on core topics such as the protection of traditional art, the integration of technology and art, the optimization of public cultural services, and the study of local art history. They shared practical experiences, exchanged academic insights, and sparked creative vitality through intellectual exchanges, fostering a consensus on development.
It is reported that in March this year, the Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Center and the Yuyao Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism, and Sports jointly organized the third "New Era·New Perspective: Inheritance and Innovation of Mass Culture Painting in Zhejiang" essay competition, which received over 70 submissions. Among them, four works from our city were awarded: Zheng Lijian's "On the Expressiveness of Chinese Painting" won the gold prize, Ying Yingying's "Exploring the Path to Youthful Transformation in Mass Culture Painting" and Lu Lu's "Development of Lacquer Art IPs from the Perspective of Cultural Tourism Integration: Dual Engines of Mass Culture Experience Economy and Cultural Globalization" won the bronze prize, while Zhang Liquan's "Innovative Design and Practice of Wire-Inlay Rock Painting Cultural Creations from the Perspective of Common Prosperity: A Case Study of Yuyao" received the excellence award.
