Spring returns to the earth, and all things are thriving. Planting trees to add greenery is just the right time. On the occasion of the 46th Arbor Day in our country, yesterday afternoon, city leaders Fu Guirong, Wo Yongte, Zhu Xiaobei, Chen Changfeng, Wang Jiaoli, and others came to the site of the Hongjia Road River Improvement Project (Haitang Road) in the Sino Italian Ningbo Ecological Park to carry out voluntary tree planting activities with officials from the Municipal Party Committee Office, Municipal People's Congress Office, Municipal Government Office, Municipal Cooperation Office, as well as officials and staff from the Municipal Natural Resources and Planning Bureau and the Sino Italian Ningbo Ecological Park Development and Construction Command, Call on all cadres and masses in the city to actively participate in afforestation activities through practical actions.
As soon as they arrived at the tree planting area of the project, the city leaders picked up labor tools and took action separately, wielding shovels to shovel soil, supporting seedlings and fences, cultivating new soil, and lifting water for irrigation... After intense and orderly labor, more than 200 newly planted seedlings such as Ginkgo biloba, Wuyanzi, Jinsi weeping willow, Hongye Shinan, Zhusi crabapple, plum blossom, and Ziwei took root in the soil, and the green belt, which is about 500 meters long, showed vitality.
During the interval between tree planting, the Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Fu Guirong, occasionally talks with relevant department heads to understand the city's afforestation work. He pointed out that on the occasion of Arbor Day, organizing a large number of government officials to participate in afforestation is not only fulfilling civic obligations, but also issuing mobilization orders to the whole society. All regions and departments should firmly establish the concept of green development, seize the current golden season of afforestation, and quickly ignite a wave of afforestation. We should give full play to the leading and exemplary role of party members and cadres, mobilize the masses to carry out courtyard greening actions, demolish walls to allow for transparent greenery, and insert greenery into gaps, further improving the coverage of urban greening. We need to strengthen scientific conservation, ensure the quality of newly planted seedlings, improve the effectiveness of afforestation and greening, continuously meet the needs of the people for a beautiful ecological environment, and provide ecological protection for the green development of our city.
